I have a 2003 Passat Wagon where the clutch will pop out of gear and into neutral. Very annoying. This will happen when e.g. going down hill and off the gas (using the engine to brake).
The local VW dealer says "This is normal. They all do that." Which is exactly what I expect to hear when there is a hard problem they can't/won't diagnose.
Does anyone else have this problem? Better yet, is there a known fix?

| My scirocco used to pop out of gear. Check the gear oil level in the trans. Mine was bone dry. Filled it up and it was like new. :shock: |

| our 03 passat has a tiptronic, but we haven't had any tranny probs. try and ask your question over at www.vwvortex.com. that site is to water-cooled what this one is to air-cooled. there is a passat specific forum over there. good luck. |
