I've seen it both ways, black or the car color of choice. What is the original style, and what style does everyone prefer. Seems that if it is a driver, the easy way out would be black, or undercoating. Both ways look good, just wondering what everyone has done during their restorations...

Body color, covered with undercoat on bugs from late 60s on. Undercoating was a factory option in prior years as well, most popular of course in the wetter climates. So if you wanted to be super anal about it, look at where your car was originally delivered and paint accordingly.

Undercoat also does a wonderful job of hiding minor bodywork in the front and rear of the vehicle. It obliviates hammer marks better than rocker schutz does.
