| How much would a 59 vw bus weigh without engine ,gearbox, axles and beam ,wheels, glass, seats and internal fittings. I'm making a cart for restoration and was wondering what the wheels should be rated at. Cheers |

Just engineer it for full weight of the bus. Better to design it for too much weight than not enough...

During my resto when the shell was empty I could pick up one end. It's actually kind of scary on jackstands because you could bump it and knock it off the stands and pin you. I looped a chain through the window holes to the overhead beam.
I'd guess under 1000lbs. |
