It appears I need a new distributor for my '78 (stock w/ FI). Anybody know where I can find a stock replacement? How about any experience with the Mallory units sold by aircooled.net? Are they worth it or any thoughts on their claims? Here's a link:

Anybody got a distributor they want to part with? |

For the money I think the Mallory unilite is the best investment you make
for your buses performance. I've got a 74 with a 2-L and duel dells so
I went with unilite with the vacume advance. It was worth the money.
If you decide to stay with a stock dist. look around for a good used
one over a rebuilt. If you go with a rebuilt have the advance curve
checked on a dist. machine by someone who knows how to use it.

What makes you think you need a new one? Stock rebuilt with vac advance from napaonline for $83.

| The Philbin Group will rebuild your dizzy. If they don't have the same one in stock the turn around time is a little longer. Give them a call. |

The shaft has too much play and the points are getting fried.
I think I'll order one of those Mallory's- I got good feedback on them on type2.com also.
Thanks |

| Keep in mind that the Mallory is not designed for any specific engine so you'll need to configure the advance curve that is suitable for your bus engine. Otherwise the advantages are lost in the upgrade and it will drive you nuts compared to the stock version. |
