You're favorite mechanic is living in Hollywood.... you bought him breakfast this morning.
You'll soon learn that NO ONE cares about your bus as much as you do. They are going to demonstrate how much they care for your bus by charging you too much, not fixing what they agreed to fix, being snotty while doing it, useing old parts, createing new problems, being incompatant and taking too long.
I was in your shoes only a year ago. I parted with a few hundred $$'s before my optimistic nature got kicked so hard in the teeth that I took matters into my own hands. I bought the books and videos and started asking Q's on the forums.
Those books and vid's cost around $200 total. And I spent another $300 or so on tools. There goes your $425 clutch job and another for the $75 he's gonna try to convince you it cost's "for the fluid for your tranny cause you just put in a new clutch".
I just spoke with a guy on the phone the other day. He sounded cool. German accent. Might be promising....
I'll hook you up if you insist. |

Automeister in Manhatten Beach, tel 310 545 0037.
Two very seasoned (older guys!!), experienced vw mechanics who have worked on my bus and bug. |
