| i think it does need to be pulled. if not, it would be VERY squishy in the engine compartment. |

| are you not changing engines anyway? maybe i missed previous posts and dont know whats going on. it seems to me if you already have an upright in thetre that yes, you would need to pull it to install new tin. but im occasionally wrong. :D |

You might be able to sneak it over the engine after you drop it several inches. Your upright fan housing might be a pain-in-the-neck. Dropping the engine is easier than pulling it out all together. Look at the thing when you get it, it'll tell you by looking at how-and-what it attaches to.
