Well first off Im a newbie so bear with me.
Second, Im the proud new owner of a nice 73 SB :D
for some odd reason the passenger side door is extremely hard to open, it almost feels like the door is gonna break off. I tried soaking the hinge in WD-40 but that didnt seem to help out. Has anyone had this problem and if so what can I do so I can use the door?
Also, my plans for the car are enormous as well as the engine. Has anyone had good encounters with "Strickly Foreign" or heard any horror stories, I know they have a good warrenty on their motors. Thanks in advance. |

More than likely the PO didn't have any friends so the door wasn't used often :D Consider liquid wrench, I find it works better than WD40. Worse case, remove the hinge pins clean 'em up and reinstall 'em. that should do the trick. Carefull about forcing the door, you could damage the door where the hinges mount.

| When I first got my '74 Super both doors were like that. What my mechanic said to do and it work really well was to hit the hinges with carb cleaner and then immediately hit it with penetrating oil. The point of all this I don't know, but I do know it worked great. I'd try PB Blaster for the penetrant. |

The rotating catch mechanism might need a spritz of light oil.
Also on the rear edge of the door there is a small hole perhaps plugged with a small rubber plug that provides access to oiling the lock mechanism. |
