| I'm replacing the weatherstripping around the doors and top of frame for my '73 vert. I'm also replacing felts and door panels. Anyone know what "door window anti-rattle plugs" are? They're also called guide plugs. Earlier years required 7 per door. My year requires 2 per door. There's also something in KGPR called "door pull anti-rattle rubber." Sounds like something I may need, but there's no more info in catalog or in Bentley's. Thanks! |

| If you are peering down into the door slot where the glass rides in and out like a slice of bread in the toaster there is a stiffener near the top of the door. This stiffener runs horizontily the entire lenght of the door and just below the felt strip and rubber weather stripping. Anyhow, there are mounting holes inside the door slot at each end of the stiffener. The anti-rattle plugs fit in the holes and keep the window glass from rattling against the door. |

| They are tiny little rubber plugs that are like or maybe the same as a glove box buffer or a rear apron stop. Wolfsburg West carries them and they push into small holes, I think along the top inside of the door to keep the glass from rattling. |

Beware, however. Those anti-rattle plugs, at least the replacement ones I got made by WCM, are not soft rubber. They seem to be hard plastic. They do not easily compress, and I gave up trying to work them into the holes.
The door pull anti-rattle rubber prevents the arm rest/handle from making vibration-related noise where it mounts to the door. It'll be apparent what it does when you get the door panel off. |

Jason,
I thought you were gonna use that trick we talked about to make
installation of those anti-rattle plugs much easier? The old
rose petal slice on the nubs with a Demel tool. Make them look like the side trim clips and stop torturing yourself trying to get them in there.
I used to cuss profusely in German, but now I'm much better. |
