Has anyone used the VDO sender that replaces the drain plug??

If I thread it all the way in the sump plate won't go back on all the way due to the sender contacting the oil screen.

Where else can you put the sender if you are not running an external oil cooler??

I have a sender like that. The PO drilled and tapped a hole in the flat area of the sump plate and put the sender there. Works fine except that the gauge reads low by about 30 degrees F. But that's not the fault of where the sender is located. 8)

I have that VDO oil temperature sender in mine (bought sender a couple of decades ago) and I never had any issues with fitment. Note that I always installed the little pan first, then the sender.
