For so many years, a Vintage VW toy representing a multi-colored tin plate lithographed Split Window
Volkswagen has been a mystery among the Vintage VW model and toy collectors.

Besides it looking like a German HUKI Split VW of the 1940-50s era, the AA124 license plate has always
been a question as how does this fit in with the German HUKI Split Window VW toys?

Well, information has been recently discovered about this AA124 tin lithographed Split Window VW.

And that's not even a Volkswagen Beetle...

Stylized, somewhat, but it's still a VW.

(If not, then what is it?)

In regards to the original HUKI mold, it is a Split Window VW for sure.

True, the lithograph design is stylized with those suicide doors, fender skirts, forward semaphores and split windshield.

But looking at the original HUKI sales sheet from 1949, HUKI calls it a Volkswagen 'Peoples Car' way back then.

. . . and then ANANIAS ANANIADES used the HUKI mold, changed the lithograph colors and then made a similar VOLKSWAGEN toy :!:
