I own a 73 SB. I was told by the previous owner of the car that when braking hard the car pulls to the left, it does. He said its due to the recient brake job. Does this sound right? Car has a good allignment and everything just pulls when under hard braking.

the breaks probably need adjusting--drum brakes on the front will do that. it's a pretty easy job, just get a brake 'spoon' (adjusting tool) or i'm sure a screwdriver might work just as well. turn the little adjusting star washer thingy. if it's pulling to the left, then the front right brake probably needs tightening.
hope this helps

Yeah, that's all it sounds like it needs is a brake adjustment.

Well here's hoping whomever did the " brake job" free'd up the adjusting stars when they were in there.
if the adjustment does not take care of the pull, ( I'm betting it won't) then the right side rubber flex hose is bad and that wheel is not getting fluid/pressure so it pulls to the left... or the wheel cylinder could be stuck/ bad on the right side...

do you know what all was replaced? some peoples version of a "brake job" is just slapping some shoes on.... no wheel cyls, no clean and lube the adjusters, no flex lines... so I personally would pull all the drums and have a look see...

Yeah,

What keifernet says is true. Better safe than sorry!
Check ALL the hardware & wheel cyls out for leaks etc. More than likely your prob is on the RH side.
