View original topic: Temporary insurance for foreign cars in the USA

Hello,

I'm thinking about shipping my 67' S042 from the Netherlands (where I have been living for the last 15 years after moving from San Francisco) to the US for a monthlong vacation/road trip with my daughter that would include the Airhead Parts Treffen from the Canadian border to the Mexican border. Does anyone here have an idea how I can arrange insurance for a Dutch registered car to be insured in the states. I am a US citizen but don't technically have a US address. Also I have friends in the UK who are interested in the trip as well but they have the added problem of being non US citizens.

Any thoughts or advice would be great.

Thanks,

Dan

Your current insurance agent should be able to answer this question and even make the arrangements for you.

Thanks for your reply. Sadly, I asked my Dutch agent this morning and she told me that there was no way to arrange it from this end. I'll try someone else here but I think i'll have to arrange it on the US side.
