| Does anyone out there know what kind of electric fuel pump will work in place of the stock mechanical pump on the old stewart warner gas heaters???? |

| I just a few weeks ago replace the mechanical pump on my SW heater w/ an electric pump. The old docs call for IIRC 5-9 psi while running. I picked up on e of the Purelotor (faucet) style cube pumps for carbs it runs something like 4-7 psi. it has worked great. It's a bit loud, but oh well. The better way to go is to find a rotary pump that puts out in that range. much more quiet. |

| I picked up a rotary style 9psi pump from the local Auto-Zone here for mine. Cost about $37. Works great, and is really quiet. You can't hear it over the heater which works great for me. |

Mount the fuel pump as close to the fuel tank as possible, below the fuel level, and away from anything hot.
Otherwise, fuel pump life will be shortened. |
