| My cuz just hooked me up with a trans. Its got the works!! 1st and 2nd super beetle gears, 3rd..1.48, 4th..1.12. R&P is 4.37. Super Diff, Aluminum Side Plates, and Berg axles. Can this setup be good on the street? |

On the street... yes. On the interstate... no.
A 1.12 4th with a 4.37 r/p means that the engine will be turning 4000rpm @ 60mph.
BTW... can you have an Interstate there? |

the 4.12 should be awesome in Hawaii...short burst...stop and go type. Just like when I was in Japan.
if you want to beef it up...handpack the bearings. set the R/P slightly on the tight end of the factory tolerance.
enjoy. |

| Thanks NS. What about also going with 0.89 on the fourth gear along with the 4.12? |

| A 1.48 to a .89 is a huge gap. You will hate it. Its bigger than the gap I have, 1.26--.82 and others that have driven my car hate it. |

| So what would be a good 3rd and 4th for some performance and some good driveability and what ring and pinion. I have this trans and would like to install it someday. |
