| Just wanted to know how everyone has installed the front speaker kick panels. I'm replacing the whole interior and wanted to know if you installed the carpet first, then the panels, or the panels first. Also, would you recommend covering the panels with matching carpet? I want to get the cleanest look and wanted your opinions. :?: |

I had panels made from sheet metal and welded in then painted body colour.

I used small cube speakers front and rear for midrange and treble, and a powered subwoofer under the back seat for bass.
The cubes are mounted with a single screw right below the dash, far enough back and to the sides so they don't protrude on knee room.
At the rear, the cubes are mounted below the rear window on either side.
The cubes are unobtrusive, easy to remove, if necessary, and sound great! |

| I used the textured black plastic panels, remove the carpet and install them, you will have to work with them to make them fit nice and tight. I did not reinstall the carpet and I think they look very nice. |

Anybody wanna tell me exactly where the kick panels go, and where I can get them from?
Also, I need a really nicely fitting carpet kit. Any suggestions on the panellived kit? |

| The kick panels go in front of the doors, below the dash, on the inside of the fender (see the post from Envious above). This gives space to install speakers in a location that provides better sound and keeps them out of the way. I had front speakers installed in the doors, but they never sounded good since my knee always covered it up. I picked mine up from SoCal Imports (~$20). It looks like I'll need to trim them a little to fit, but they look pretty good. |
