| Hi folks... been a while for me here but i'm wondering if anyone using 94's has had any noticeable problems... this next motor will be an experiement really but i need it to last for at least say a year...i keep reading how 94's don't seal well and am gonna do some experiments on my own to see..also how many of you folks use a NON detergent oil for break in then back to detergent oil?? |

94's work perfectly fine in daily drivers. From my understanding, there were a previous version of them years ago that didn't fair as well.
I run detergent oil from the get-go on all my motors. I never bother with non-detergent. |

| someone explained to me that in the 70s/80s the 94s had thinner walls then they do now, that is why the big 'myth' exists although it was true back then i guess.... dunno for sure.. |

They are just fine to run... I have built 94 bored engines for replicars that have owners that know nothing about engines.. One of them has 50K on it just in 3 years (Its an intermeccanica roadster)
He even runs A/C on a 165 BHP 2165 @ 9:1 |

| What about in a bus? (not at the moment, but maybe in the future) How do they go with the extra weight? I'm guessing the replicars don't weigh as much. |

| As long as you didn't get the motor too hot, they should work fine. They won't last as long as they would in a beetle. If you don't mind dropping 2 bills and a weekend to change out the p&c's every few years, i'd say go for it. |
