hey all,
how fast will a 40hp engine go in a bus? what year bus did it come with? thanks. |

It all depends on the condition of the engine, the load in the car and the prevailing winds. On a calm day with a mild load, your stock gearing is good for relaxed driving at 55-60. If your engine is smooth running, leak free, well-assembled, all seals good, you could probably cruise it at 60-65.
There are all kinds of stories about 80 mph down the Donner Pass, but be nice to your engine. Original equipment up to 1963, I believe.
