| Does any manufacturer make a good stereo the fits in a 65 ghia without having to modify (cut) the dash? |

| The only one I know of are the knob style ones, but they are usually cheap and only tape. There is a fiberglass company that makes center consoles for bugs to hold them. they may make something for the ghia, but I can't remember the name of them. Or your local car audio shop should be able to build something for underneath the dash. |

| Put a CD player in the glove compartment works great, clean look also, I currently have a Pioneer in mine with a voltage booster ( im still 6 volt) and 6x9s sounds good as long as the back seat is down, cant turn it up too loud because of the draw on the battery damn 6 volt  |

I agree with the previous comments, put in a high performane stereo in the glove box. Additionally I would fill the radio hole with a sapphire 1 radio, I have a few non-working sapphire 1 radios. Contact me if you are interested in one:

Jamie,
A couple of the fiberglass companies make units that will hold a radio in the place of your normal glove box, so you just open the glove box door to get to your radio. Fit-up can be a real pain, though. I ended up copying the design in walnut...looks great with a 67 wood-tone dash. I'll post a picture if you're interested. |

They make the fiber glass floor pans, bumpers ......
Here is their website http://www.vwinnovations.com/
I bought their kick panel speaker holders.
I read a couple of months back that some people had a hard time installing the glove box, radio holder. They had to do some cutting and modifications to get it to fix. You maybe able to find the post if you search the forums. |
