Hey all! If this has been asked before, sorry.

What do you all carry and/or recommend for a travel/garage metric tool set? I need something that I can carry in my Super, without taking up a ton of room, and might possibly be on the lighter side of heavy...

Thanks!

My tool kit is in a plastic storage container (Tuckertote, I think). Fits neatly behind the back seat. I carry a set of open end metric wrenches, several flat and philips screwdrivers (including a stubby and a real long one), a set of metric sockets, a couple of drifts, several pliers including locking ones, wire strippers and a roll of stiff wire ("mechanic's"), extra oil pan gaskets and valve cover gaskets, a spare clutch and accelerator cable, fuses, bulbs, scissors, a razor, files and a continuity tester. Weighs about 30 lbs. I also carry two flashlights (one battery and one that runs off the cig lighter) and a blanket in case I have to get under the car.

Check around, places like Wallmart, Home Depot, or Lowes often carry inexpensive tool kits. They'll cover the basics and make sure you add some of the "extras" 79SuperVert recommends. Specially cables [clutch & throttle], fuses and bulbs. I'd also like to recommend duct tape and a handfull of zip ties.

I'd add the following:

Set of sparkplugs, distributor cap with wires, points, condensor.
Spare fanbelt, extra fanbelt shims.
Length of fuel line and vacuum line.

Barry, every time I see that Avatar, it cracks me up!
What a great movie, and a classic character.
I think I'll pop "Office Space" into the 'ol DVD player tonight!
