Should I restore my 65 ghia vert's steering wheel or buy a new repo?

Those things are pretty expensive if they're original (about $300). So, the choice is your's. I'd probably try to fix it if it were me. You can always buy a new one if you can't fix it. Por-15.com sells some steering wheel repair "kit". I have never tried it so I can't tell you if it's any good.

There was a thread in the General Forum from someone who restored his own steering wheel. Looked really great. I have a bunch of old steering wheels around that I want to restore and take to swap meets. Search in the General Forum and decide for yourself.

My steering wheel works fine but is ugly. The chome is pitted and there are fine crack near the column. Since it's working it'll be one of the last things I do. If I can restore it and have it look good as new, that would be cool.
