We had a great weekend here in Michigan, it was above freezing! It even got almost up to 60 degrees, perfect beetle driving conditions!!!
I was going through bug withdrawls.

That salt will eat your strut towers, and eventually, you'll "wander" all over the road.

Airkooled, if you see this: saw the pic of your super (nice!) I also have a '71 Super and am wondering about the amber tail light lenses on yours. All I've seen are solid red, except for the back-up portion of course. Did you just change out the lenses or what?

I found them on ebay, they are pretty nice IMO. I also got the 1302s rear badge.

Thanks airkooled! Just snagged a pair. Great tip, and I needed new ones anyway. Just got the Super (bought from an ad on Samba, no less) and am getting started on it. Big fun :D Hope Spring comes soon where you are!

I also got my ride back on the road this weekend. Just glad it hasn't rained so I'm not getting any road salt spray drying up on the windshield. Just replaced floors, fenders, all exterior lighting, and added new wheels and rubber. Still planning to redo the complete interior, add an electric windshield washer system, bumpers, and get ready for paint.
