Hi everyone,
I just finished priming my bear metal '70 KG vert with DPLF. I shot some K36 primer over that. I ran out of K36 after covering the body with one coat.
The doors and engine lid, as well as the inside of the front lid are still in DPLF.
I know that I have a week to cover the DPLF with K36.
The PPG info sheet recommends K36 to be at least 2 layers thick so I'd like to put another one on, but I don't want to sand it twice, if you get my drift.
My question is: Can I apply a second coat of K36 on top of the K36 that's allrady on the car without sanding it first? And, If I have to sand it, what grit do I use?
Thanks, |

| No you must sand the k36. Use 320-400 grit with a da or watersand with 600 grit |

Thanks for the advice,
Can I use a scuff pad on the dried K36 before putting on a second coat, or do I have to sand it? |

| You could probably get by with a red scoch brite but you would have to do a VERY through job. 320 on a DA is the way to go. |

OK, DA Sander.
I've never used one. DA stands for "dual action" right?
So what setting do I use for this? (random, or circular)
Thanks |

| Use the random setting, if you use the circular setting you will make a mess of your bodywork and primer. |
