View original topic: Installation of Window Scrapers for 72' Ghia Vert

Does anyone have any experience with these new "all in one" window scrapers that came out for 72' Ghia Verts? These have to be one of, if not the, hardest parts to find. I have been waiting for 4 years for "something" to come out and finally these.

Essentially, they're the chrome strip with the rubber insert already installed. I'm assuming it's a matter of attaching new clips (somehow) and snapping it on.

Any ideas? or experience with these? Any help would be a big help.
Thanks,

I've wrecked every late model 72-74 window scraper I have ever touched. They are a PITA. You can still buy the original clips that held them on, but I wonder if the repro scrapers would work with them? I suppose you could use an adhesive goo to put them on.
Where did you find these repros, perhaps a link? Then maybe the application can be determined better.

Here is a link to the site with these new scrapers. It's Karmann-Ghia Parts & Restoration:

No experience here yet with the reproduction late model
window scraper units. Agreed that the OEM parts are rare,
kind of brittle and easily damaged.
I've found it best to install the plastic clips in the window slot
first, then snap in place the scraper units.
Please be aware that the convertible late model (1972-74)
window scrapers are slightly different than those for a coupe.
Not interchangeable. :(
