We got word on a 55 SC in outback Australia so we planned the trip kids and all loaded the truck and packed the trailer
2000ks to the front gate
Outback red dirt track a further 11ks from his letter box
There he was Rusty as the kids named him
Almost 4hrs to load him and secure him in 40c heat dry hot heat
But now another 2000ks home we are proud to have saved him |

LOL! Okay, okay! It's a true story! Congrats on your road trip and haul out of your new "old" Bus! Keep up with the photos and more story about the find and haul-out.
Tell me that someone turned that static 747 into a residence. That would be cool! I'm a flight attendant and have spent an awful lot of time working inside those beasts. I bet with the right ramp, one could store a lot of old Buses inside of one of those Boeings...

Well almost 4000ks and we are home safe WHAT AN ADVENTURE yes after the first day busting my freckle loading it in the 40c heat I did want to sell him buy 4 days later and another 2000ks of bonding he is part of the family kids have been waiting to go get him for almost 3 months now he is here they cant stop talking about him
Rusty turned many heads coming home had many chats in all the towns loads of people taking pictures so i will say pending the repair bill being over the top he will stay
Enjoy Rusty we certainly have and look forward to the next chapter
Qantas museum in Longreach Queensland Australia the town where they started the company and where we found Rusty
The trip again was an epic family adventure and so will be the rebuild I'm sure |

Cool bus
Ya so weird right? It's not like it was used on another bus or something. Where did it run off to? |

Love this shot. The folks to the right are happy to see the new find, and the hardware store sells caskets.
Great story and photos. Thanks for posting up. |
