Nearby I have found a Type 3 motor up for sale (carbureted) and am thinking about picking it up and playing with it...obviously would need to do something about that terrible single carb sticking up...

My question is...how complete does this look? :) AND what would you say's it worth is?

missing everything and spray painted silver everything. $25?

it is a single port, so I guess value would be based on the case number, and if any of the internals are usable

Hahaha that's what I figured lol.

He was trying to sell it for $500...and I laughed. :)

That is one sad sad motor. And I thought mine was missing a lot of pieces.....

From the look of the tin on the right side, it's early 63

I am sure "it ran when I pulled it"...hahaha in 1964. Then I painted the whole engine at one time with a rattle can...:) lol

"It's a 'Rebuilt Motor'"!

"I used only the finest Rustoleum products in this build!".

"Took over a minute to do, and my trigger finger was TIRED!"

Step 1.
Take junk core motor and cover in spray-paint.

Step 2.
Take beetle carb and manifold and set on top of motor.

Step 3.
Ask $500 for it.

Rather than show pics of the motor,
Can you get a picture on the guy selling it?

That would be something to see..
Maybe see if he is willing to pose with it?

Bet you he has more tattoos than teeth!

Yes, there are people stupid enough to give $500 for that motor.
However,
They aren't smart enough to actually have $500 to spend!
