i just got done with a 2332, and i like it alot, i put it in a single seat rail and did a few donuts....woo hooo...any way now i am bulding a 2+2 rail so i can have a extra person to scare. i plan on building 2332 turbo motor for it. i know i want a draw thu, but i dont know what size of turbo i need. I dont want a side draft carb. cuz i dont know anything about them and they are hard to find. so i thought i would use a 4bb intake man and put a 600cfm carb on it....would that be hard to tune?? and the reason i want a 4bb is so i can add a nos plate on it if it dose not make anoff power...i do have a heavy foot and i am not happy unless it scares me, any help would be great....thanks Richard Hancock  thanks

A setup like that is possible, Cam is of great importance with a turbo motor, you need to minimise or eliminate the cross-over (time when both inlet and exaust valves are open at the same time) otherwise you'll be blowing boost pressure out through the exhaust. Turbo grind cams are available off the shelf or you can have a cam ground to your specification, Web Cams were happy to do a special grind for me.

Turbo size is another part of whats going to dictate your power and where it's available, if the turbo is too big you're not going to start producing boost until quite high up in the rev range, if its too small you'll start producing boost at much lower revs but it may run out of puff at higher engine speeds. For this reason it's very important to consider what kind of use the engine is going to see, and at what engine speeds you want the power delivered.

Check out the forced induction forum at shoptalkforums.com, read back through past threads - you'll pick up a lot of usefull info there, also try and get your hands on a copy of Bob Tomlinsons book - Turbomainia, an invaluable aid when starting treading the turbo route.

when i turboed my car i read the turbomania book front to back, before i even attempted to put a turbo on my car, i know of a few guys that run sand cars with a holley 600 cfm, and they are not functional enough, they tend to flood easily. i went with a side draft carb. from CAR CRAFT (oh by the way my engine is a 2276cc.) they helped out nicely and even set my carb out for the higher elevation. my dad is running a 2332cc. in his sand car the turbo is a tbo4-t-3 with a 48 trim exhaust and a 52 trim intake, loves it to death at 15 psi, cam is an engle fk8, just some insite on personal experience :)
