Hello listers
I have a New-to-me 1974 ghia and I have questions about the #'s on it.

Under the front hood - I see a plate with 1442294218 can anyone tell me what this tells me?????

I believe this is a close to the end of the 74 run.... it is a cabriolet....

The motor ( with Judson supercharger) is # B6310560 same question what does this # tell me ????? It is a single port motor -

This is the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and there is a cover plate underneath the rear seat at the end of the center tunnel which should have the same number. The 144 means that its a Type 1 Karmann Ghia. Thew rest is the serial number. You can get a "Birth Certificate" for your Ghia with this number.
