| Wondering when Downtown LA was at Figueroa @ Jefferson. Am I correct to assume that DLA was there prior to being at Washington & Figueroa, since this is where they are currently located. I don't see any history (other than being in the business since 1959) on their website. |

All I know is I have a dealer frame that I just posted with Fig&Jeff with a VW logo & there is another one under the Downtown LA VW dealership in the archives. The archives lists under LA: Downtown Imports (1960), Downtown LA Imports (1962 or 63) and Downtown LA VW (1965). I figured since the dealership is currently at the Washington/Figueroa location, Fig @ Jeff came first (discounting there being a competitor so close). Downtown LA VW on its website states they have been in the VW business since 1959. Just was curious & figuring with this group somebody would set be straight as to which plate frame was older. |

Shockley - Frederick, MD
Since I live in Frederick, & I'm currently not running my YOMs, I figured what the heck. May not have been established until the
early 1970's but doesn't matter to me. Thanks VW-62!

I've seen postings where the frames have been restored, but do you restore them yourself or send them somewhere?
If it's a DIY thing, any tutorials or videos?

I'm curious on how many different style plate frames Bozzani Porsche/VW have made over the years. They are an old SoCal dealer that has been in the LA area at least since the 60's. The dealer has been in several locations throughout the years, and sold VW and Porsche's side by side at one of them. It would seem like they had a new style made every few years or when they moved.
This is the type that came on my current '66 and is original to the car...
Here is a small sample of three different ones found at last years pre-Classic OCTO swap meet.
None of them are identical to mine. One on the bottom is similar but has a different font weight...
A friend has yet another version of their combination Porsche/VW frames and the fonts are slanted or in italics!
Please post pictures if you have any others to share,
TY |

that bozzani plate frame looks like mid 70's to 80's.
I have a Rusnak Pasadena that has same build and I got it from a tech that worked there in the 70's-80's and early 90's. This pic is from another I have. I have 4 NOS Rusnaks and 10-12 mid to late 90's plate frames that are slightly different.
