| I've got two 36hp motors I'm playing with and noticed one does not have a choke on it at all and the other one does and they're both 28's..Can anyone tell me what the story is on these carbs? I've got a '51 splitwindow and was thinking maybe I need this non choke'd carb for it if I ever find a 25hp motor...Thank You..Don |

The 25hp carburetor has no accelerator pump, is that what you mean?
They all had chokes, as far as I know, unless it's an industrial carburetor? |

I'm not sure about the accelerator pumps, I think they both have this,but only one has a choke...I found another one at a bug shop last week without a choke too,but the guy said it was off of a '56 356,but I know this isn't true because I have a '56 356 and the carbs are totally different..He wants 50.00 for it,so I decided to do some research here before buying it..
The 28 PCI carb has the accelerator pump on the very back of the carb staring at you when you look at the motor,but no choke at all...The other one is a 28 PICT and has a choke on the right side and the accelerator pump on the side in front of the choke...
Both of the air cleaners look like stock 36hp ones with dual latches,but they are a bit different in design too...mainly the "hat" looking parts are a little different...
Any ideas? Should I grab the 50.00 carb too? |
