Gates open at 8:00 am for this display and swap event, held on the spacious lawns of the CCC Fairgrounds in Antioch, CA. Bug Bash always welcomes ALL Volkswagens, regardless of year, model or condition. This year's special display is stock/vintage/restored cars from the 1940's to 1960's. Besides all of the VW fun, the vintage and custom bicycle show and swap, Bike Bash, is happening again on the midway. All-inclusive general admission is still only $10 per adult, which includes entry, display and/or swap space. Please visit www.californiabugbash.com for more information.

Bug Bash weekend kicks off with the LaVere’s open house on Saturday June 25 from 10-3 at 1121 Landini Lane in nearby Concord.

Just a few days until Bug Bash weekend!

Saturday 6/25: The open house at Lavere's runs from 10am to 3 pm. Stop by and check out the latest restorations in progress, take pictures in front of the famous Wall of Decklids. Meet the knowledgeable staff and have a great free BBQ lunch.

Sunday 6/26: Bug Bash! Gates open at 8:00 am. New for 2016 is entry through the main (front) gate of the fairgrounds (not "O" St as in the past), which should eliminate frustration for drivers of lowered vehicles, with an easy transition from smooth road onto the expansive lawn area. There will be 2 entry lanes, with overflow in the large parking lot to the left of the gate. There will be a special display of vintage Volkswagens, featuring classics as old as 1946. As always swap spaces are FREE with adult general admission, which is still only $10, so feel free to clean out the garage. The Wrenn's will be serving coffee in the morning, and Mercado's will be serving their famous breakfast burritos on the midway in the morning, and excellent tacos for lunch. The raffle will feature items from Honest Engine Midtown, Wolfsburg West, Lavere's, Vintage Parts Inc., Shorty's Customs and many more. The weather is expected to by typical Antioch summer...HOT, so don't forget the canopies, cold beverages and sunblock.

Entrance change is great, my bug did not like the old entry road. Hella locals from Oakley/Brentwood that haven't been before are going this time.

I'll be there!

Eric's 1946 Rollback at yesterday's Bug Bash, Driven down from Sacramento on a very hot day in Northern California. Thank you to Eric for sharing another one of his special vehicles with us.

I took my '66 to the show. Put about 200 miles total on the car. Not bad for a 40 horse in triple digit temps.

Met up with some people from our club for breakfast before heading out.
