Ok sense I went to a bigger motor I also went to bigger carbs. I'm currently running a 1915 with dual DRLA Delortos in my fastback. I didn't have this trouble with the 1600 and 34 icts. But I can't find any air cleaner that will fit the carbs and under the the hatch. The ones I'm running need to be replaced and they were the ones I put on when I put the motor together. They can't be inch and 3 quarter they need to be more like one inch. The inch and 3 quarter air cleaner filters are too tall they will only fit if I put them on and then put the motor back in. What a pain that would be everytime I want change them. Any ideas? Anybody evr used 40 Dels on a type 3?

i just got a set-up for my 40's that i am putting onto my squareback and i know that cb performance has the aircleaners that i got so they should sell replcement elements...check them out

yea, CB Performance has them. I used them on my square with 40 IDF's

I have the same problem with my stock 1600 DP with 36 drla's and when i bought the kit from CB performance the air cleaners were to tall to use.

So John what was your resolution? The air cleaners at CB performance are too tall so I can't use them. They are 1 3/4. I may have a set of dual 40 dels for sale guys.

I bought some air filter foam and sandwiched it between some screen its a 1/2 inch thick and are being held together with the wing nuts and threads from the CB performance kit. This will work till I find the time to make some ducting for some K&N style filters.

CB Performance sells the 1-1/8" filters, they should fit under the deck. I don't know about the 1-1/2" filters though, might be a bit tight.

Finally got my air cleaners today from CB Performance. 1 1/8" Cb Performance isa the only place I've ever seen these things at $11.00 a piece.

I'm running a set of K&N filters on my stock dual carbs. I picked up a full K&N catalog at my local JEGS and eventually found an application that fit correctly. I'll check tonight when I get home to see if I can get the part number. Also, if anyone would like to post the dimensions you need (height 1 and 1/8th inch?, what size opening do you need for the carb?) I can check the K&N catalog and see what they have listed
