Hi;
I´m using big wheels on my baja (Mexican beetle 1.6i 1997), I'm using the stock 3/4 "(dual circuit) master cylinder, disc brakes at front and drum rear, will be a good idea replace stock small rear wheel cylinders for a 7/8" size to improve braking?
Best regards... |

IT's pretty important to improve rear braking to match the front braking for the Highway but off road well perhaps there it may be even more beneficial, Depending on the off road conditions like in loose gravel. Just have to try it both ways and see how it does. |

Yes changing out the stock 17mm rear wheel cylinders to the front 22mm wheels to use in the rear is a wise idea. It will give you more stopping power with the larger rear tires. |

Pablo,
If you could find a set of rear brakes from a type 3, that would be a better option. If not, then the wheel cylinder swap will work next best. Just so you know, when you swap out the cylinders, or go to type 3 brakes, your brake pedal will be closer to the floor before the brakes will engage. |
