Just for fun. If you could only own one 'high-end' vintage VW, which model would it be? |

I'd be caught dead in a Hebmüller any day. I love the lines. They are just that rare car that gets my attention anytime that I see one. Like never! I also dig the Karmen Ghia (Variant) I'm not sure if that
if that is correct. Just not your run of the mill rounded Ghia. You don't see those everyday. But I did happen to park next to one last month. It was amazing the amount of attention that car got. I had to repeatedly explain to folks what it was. Many just couldn't believe it was a Karmen Ghia.
Enjoy the ride. |

A Heb would be awesome but I voted for a kdf wagen. However I'll take it to the next level and say the 4wd Kommandeurwagen. That would be the ultimate for me. =P~ |

I feel like really early models should be mentioned if you're going to include kdf's. Like a early run bus 49/50 |

The Schwimmer...
Noticed that kommandeurwagen (4wd model of wartime beetle) not in poll.
But I'd still pick Schwimmer. |

Choose Wartime Kdf Beetle for Kommandeurwagen.
I should have put Wartime Beetle (Kdf, Kommandeurwagen), but I can't edit the list now.
I didn't want to make it too niche. So for a 1950 bus, choose Barndoor (Commercial/other).
Assume all models would be in the same condition (your preferred condition!).
Ie if you like original paint, they're all in original paint!
Looking at the current votes, I wouldnt have thought Kdf Beetle would be the clear front runner.
And I wouldnt have predicted Split Beetle Cab at 0 votes.
Mike F, I'm liking your style!
If you havent voted, please do. |

Bar chart after 69 votes:
I've composed a second bar chart after some Grouping:
Barndoor Deluxe + Barndoor Other > Barndoor
Split Beetle 46-49 + Split Beetle 49-52 > Split 46-52
Lowlight Cab + Lowlight Coupe > Lowlight
My thoughts:
Hebs look to be the most 'desired' Vintage VW
Kubelwagens are the least desirable wartime VW [behind Kdf's and Schwimm's]
Split Cabs have [so far] pulled in zero votes - weird?
Rometsch's have also scored low
If one grouped 'factory' Split Beetles - Kdf & Splits 46-52 - they would lead with 14 votes |

Gotta be a Schwimmenwagen, be so cool to be able to wave to folks in Pittsburgh as you drive down the river. |
