Unfortunately my ADD got the best of me & since the body is rougher than I first thought, I'm going to go class 11 style on my build.

However, I've got two bodies to choose from & im kinda torn on the direction to go.

Should I go with a kommanderwagen style with my '57 shell?
Which will be painted flat tan.

Or shall I go with the resurrected '66 zombie beetle shell?
Which would be left in its natural state.

I'd go with the 66'. I think it has bigger windows for better visibility.

Thus the dilemma, the '57 euro would be the coolest because who does that? But the '66 isn't quite as rare & any damage it received wouldn't be quite as unforgivable.

Your build, pick one and get started. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. Pros and Cons for each.

I wish I had your problems.
I'd go with the red for the obvious reasons. The black looks perfect for a low rider sleeper or something street. But honestly besides trim and color, they both look the same to me. Call me silly.

I'll answer your question and continue by asking you more questions.

Answer: '57 in flat tan would look amazing if you lift it and fit larger tires without modification to the body. It would look like a war time commander wagen.

Do you plan on driving it hard off road? Mostly a street car? More people would forgive you if you rolled a '66 that's for sure, and it looks cool in the red patina with gloss coat. But if you have a '57 body why not use it? I'd rather see it on a rolling class 11 style driver than sitting in a driveway as a shell.
