  View original topic: MY BRAKES ARE COOCOO!!!HELP ME GUYS!!

so i was driving around the hood, in my square for about half an hour and as i was heading home i thought i was missing the brake pedal or something, but then noticed that in order to brake i had to push the pedal in ALL THE WAY! it wasnt a problem when i started, any ideas? i hope one of you wise guys can help me out.


also i smelled burning rubber, you guys have any tips for this? the hand brake WAS off...is it cuz im a clutch madman? well ANY feedback will be awesome thanks.

perhaps a wheel cylinder has started leaking and the fluid level in the resivoir is low? maybe air in the lines?do a good flush and bleed of the system and check your wheel cylinders and brake hoses.

What's the condition of your rubber flex hoses? Maybe one collapsed and locked up a wheel. This might affect pedal free play too...

yeah everett,I didn't bring that up since he didn't mention it pulling to one side or the other ral bad when he got on the brakes.

It might not do that if the back is locking up.

this would be true but since we don't know what it's doing one can only assume :wink:

so C,check all the points both everett and I pointed out and you should be able to get it figured out pretty easy

well actually it WAS pulling to the left just a little...maybe that would have something to do, or some sort of sign?

check that left front rubber hose then,sounds like the culpret
