| Just look right at it. Should be a couple of phillips head scews holding it in place. Remove them and it comes right out. |

They got rid of the screws by then, it's just the PULL style
Seriously just grab it towards the base and give it a good tug it will come right out. |

| I think you need to twist it less than a quarter turn to the left or right before you pull. |

DO NOT TWIST IT!!!'
Sorry for the shouting but I busted one but good doing just that. I also broke one pulling too close to the mirror. Pull away from the window holding as close to the window as possible. Perhaps using a large slot driver to encourage it. The spring mechanism is really strong so please be careful.

Quote: CAREFULLY
No kidding.A previous owner of my fasty(RIP) ripped the RVM out and left the base in. I had a heck of a time pulling it out. It took 2 screwdrivers and a pair of pliers to remove it. |

Going back in is not a problem. Line it up and smack it in with your rubber mallet. I used the heel of my hand. It took me 3 sharp smacks and it popped right in.

Thanks Bobnotch, I purchased Photoshop Elements so that I can resize photos for our Rafting Co. and found that I could use it to resize photos for the internet. Good fun.
I will post a photo of what I did to my rear view mirror. Definitly not stock. I love it but not stock.
