View original topic: Throttle shaft/control lever play

Am hoping someone can help with an idea or two on how to tighten up the fit of the throttle/linkage lever on the throttle shaft in my 32 PDSIT's. The throttle shaft itself still fits nice and tight in the throttle body, no rebush is necessary. The "slop" is where the linkage lever fits over the shaft. I guess that thru years of use the hole in the lever has enlarged allowing the linkage to advance at least a 1/4" before the throttle starts to pick up. I'm thinking along the lines of filling the hole in the throttle lever and re-drilling. Any other ideas?

TIA, Brent

Brent, I posted a reply over on STF today for you. But I'd probably weld the hole semi-closed, and fix it right.

Bob, Thanx  As usual you are a big help.

On another note, what is the date of the "invasion" this year? Is there a web site?. Trying to hash out the shows I would like to attend this year...Am going to the "classic" for sure and the Great Canadian in Vancouver. Hopefully the Vegas Bug-In as well 8) Maybe a Bug O Rama. And the local shows/drags/cruises here in the Northwest. Should be a good year for ACVW "stuff"!

I've done this repair for TypeThreeDetective in the UK.
1) Remove the Rod
2) Drill/Ream the hole up for a bushing
3) Press the bushings in and line ream to size.

Blam done deal. For a shipping if you don't need them tomorrow I can do it for you.
