I just bought a 74 Ghia yesterday, and looking the car over at home I noticed that only the passenger side has the Karmann badge on the fender. I thought this was maybe just shoddy bodywork by a previous owner, but looking in the classifieds today, I saw that most cars were the same way. Why was this? Were the Beetle 'verts the same?

Only the right side has a badge. Don't ask why, Only Dr. Karmann knows the answer to that mystery.

I remember hearing once that most European cars are only badged on the right hand side.

My Beetle vert has the badge only on the right side. Can't think of why.
