I recently purchased a new VDO oil temperature guage and was sold a screw in sensor to "put in the pressure relief valve hole "
I wanted to make shure where this was .

Type 3 engine in my Type 6 Sedan Delivery .

is this the plug with the red around it ?
does anything fall out when I take this plug out ?

this is what I have ;temperature sender 18 x 1.5 ; temperature guage 120 to 300

No, the pressure relief hole is one of two similar-looking screw-plugs on the bottom of the case.

The pic makes your motor look like it's floating in mid air. There is a spring and a piston in there. Some quick searches will show you.

New gauge works great ; Thank You Everyone , only surprise was how hard the spring was to compress and get the sensor into the hole .

Note ; When I ran the new wiring harness I ran a 4 color 16 gauge trailer wire . the accessory gauges went on these wires . I read on one thread where the builder left the trailer plug near the engine so whenever he removed the engine all he had to do was unplug the harness / not each wire / gauge .
