I've been looking for a Super Beetle here in NM, with not much success. Recently, and ad came up on the Samba:

I'm wondering if any of the Sambaists in Phoenix could go by and have a look to see if it is as advertised? If you require payment. please let me know.

I looked at that advertisement as well. Good luck! Seems to be good value for the money.

Would you keep it as Orange, or restore to the blue shown on the interior!?

The first concern is that this beetle is not a 1973 but a 1971/72 flat windshield super. If the title says 1973 then there are some serious discrepancies. I just looked at a car last week with the title matching all body #s but the most important # on the pan was to a different car.

Before sending anyone out, have the owner send pics of the title next to the VIN# on the pan.

Honestly, I'm not a fan of either color, although I prefer the blue if I had to pick. Maybe yellow, or a two-tone of some kind?

Thanks for spotting that! On my Ghia the chassis number is under the back seat. Is it the same for the Super Beetle?

looks like a 73 standard beetle not a 71-72 super.

Hmm, then it's either the wrong year or the wrong model.

Yes, I just saw the flat windshield, I didn't look at the shorter nose.

Not a super but it still looks like a decent deal.

Definitely. However, I have my heart set on a Super, so it sound like my quest continues.

Says standard all over it for me.. Just mailed the seller to find out the location. It is not a Super nope. Would go take a look for 1500 what could possibly be wrong, right!

Agree: first one looks like 1973 standard to me too.
