I am trying to help out a friend who was kind enough to dump this in my lap and see if I can fix and perhaps sell it...only problem is...what is this thing and how do I tell what year? Oh and how do I get the engine compartment open.
The vin number is 319190308
and the type is 31
Sometimes I feel like an idiot and other times I know!
Of course she brought it over this morning while I was out and I cannot get a hold of her to find out these things.
Here is the pics I took so far

Can anyone help this poor nice guy out?

| If I'm not mistaken, from the vin # that's a 1969 Fastback. |

Looks and sounds like a '69 Fastback.
There should be a pull knob in the driver's door jamb to open the rear trunk lid. |

YEAHHHHHH :D
Ok thanks for that help...I kept looking near the front and by/in between the seat and would have found it sooner or later...probably about the time I started pulling the interior.

| Yup a 69 Fastback. Looks like most of it's still there from the pics. Trunk release is in the left door jamb ("B" pillar). A litle rough, but great for that "rat rod look". :D |

Sweet rides Bob, This one is not mine to play with or I might concider it...I do know where a 59ish Renault 4cv (four door VW with the front two suicide from factory)is that I might have to pick up if I ever decide to run that route. Right now I am playing with two Full Steel Jacket Jeeps, one a Wagoneer and the other a J4000 Truck, a 57 Shortbox Cheby, and a 66 Pontiac Lemans Conv. My plate is overflowing and not enough hours in a lifetime.
