Hi all!!!

I love this place, I'm from Alabama and I have a 70 Fastback, there are a few VW wrecking yards close to me as well...

Anyway my first question is....

Will the floorpans from a 70's model Karman Ghia work on a 70 on up T3,they look the same in a catalog, has anyone tried this yet? :D

Welcome to the Samba. I know there has been lots of discussion on this subject. If you go up to the search button and follow the leads you will find all you ever wished to know about floor pans.

Ghia pans can work, but they won't be a "direct swap". You'll have to modify them in order to get them to fit. I'd contact Martin at the DDB ( www.theddb.com ) and get some real type3 floor pans from them. You'll be happier in the long run. I hope this helps.

Before I was enlightened I concidered epoxying cafateria trays behind the passenger seat. However I was lead to the DDB where I saw the light. My pan on the passenger side will most likely last longer than I will. They did a great job.
There was a HUGE debate and I pity that poor fellow who was so beaten over the fiberglass issue. Actually I believe there have been several debates about pans. Yeah, I read that post about fiberglass vs. steel, cafeteria trays vs. The DDB and Joe vs. the volcano...all quite informative and entertaining, I love VW folks.....I think I'll go with some patch panels from the DDB, I only need to fix a few spots.....Thanks all for the help....... :)

Actually, I was just busting 70 Bama Fasty's chops, he is a newbie that I turned onto the Samba. :) Wasn't directing that to you Anniehum.
