View original topic: Carpet kits for my new square

After getting it all cleaned up, my interior turned out quite nice under a lot of years of dirt. The carpet is toast though. I've found a couple of kits on the market but they're all complete kits for the entire car, I can't find them in brown and if I do, they have yarn binding and not cloth like the original. My car only had carpet on the kick panels and sills, not the entire floor. There's a grey and black small checkered rubber mat over the floor and tunnel that looks to be original and cleaned up well.

Does anybody have a good source for a brown carpet kit for just the kick panels and sills with cloth binding.

tmi or sewfine will but cloth binding on a kit for you at an extra charge and you can get an original style kit that doesn't cover the whole floor.

order from a tmi or sewfine dealer who KNOWS TYPE 3's and what the original style is for your car and you will do just fine.

You can't order directly from TMI since they only sell wholesale but when you order form your choice of retailers make they know what they're talking about. TMI will also sell just the carpet uncut if you need it. For example if you want to put matching carpet on the parcel trays underneth the rear windows on a notch or fasty.

You can however call TMI directly and ask them questions and get the correct part#, so that when you do call you choice of retailer you can get the correct carpet for your application.

I haven't dealt with Sewfine, but I here only good things about them and their product.

But you can contact TMI thru their main retailer which is called TMI / J Bugs ( www.jbugs.com ) and order directly from them. J Bugs went into a partnership with them to be their main retailer, and that is who I order ALL of my TMI interior parts thru. I hope this helps.
