I'm going to have a bitch session (fair warning!). Not picking on anyone here.
I still don't have the engine for this car. :x
the turn signals still don't blink, and I don't know why. :x
the rest of the nose lighting is still very touchy; a bad bump will probably knock if off kilter the way things work now. :x
Right now, I'm in the same position as I was right after the fastback was smashed. It's really ticking me off that NO ONE who made promises to help is actually following through worth anything! :x
I really am tempted to ask if anyone is willing to buy this car and I just buy a car where I'm not relying on others to get it running. Not suprisingly, this is what I was thinking about:

At least it has a chance of running soon. :? [/i] |

That's a nice looking square.
So what's the problem with your car? As in what were people to help you with?
Working on VW's always takes patience. Tackle one thing at a time.

No problem. Only this has been a "one thing at a time" thing for te LAST 3 WEEKS! Putting the engine in was supposed to be relatively quick because it's fully assembled and ready to go. It was supposed to take 2 hours, tops.
The point of my buying this car was that I had a nice car that actually had a chance of running soon. I need it as a daily driver; the truck is on it's way out and the other cars are being hogged by family. I can't get a job because there's no means to get to the job without it, and school is accessible but beyond inconvenient.
Therefore, once again I have an expensive pile of metal sitting in a yard I don't even own (it's my parent's). I'm walking a fine line there to begin with. They're legally able to have it up and hauled to the dump whenever they please.
The end result is that I forsee this car sitting in the sideyard for over a year, just like the last three (fasty not withstanding). I don't want to do that anymore. The point of this car was to have a runner to replace the car that was robbed from me (still rather bitter about that). |

So why can't you put the engine in if it's complete? What's the hang up there.

| Are you on the type3.org list? Their FI knowledge is the best free advice anywhere. I have seen many a FI diagnosed and fixed over emails. |

I think it is a matter of transporting the engine from the yard where the fasty rests to Greg's home, then installing the motor into the square.
Patience Greg. Can you ask one of the folks in the club to give you a hand? I met some really nice folks there that live in Puyallup. There has to be some help close at hand. Like Nik said take one thing at a time. It has taken me several years to get Savanna to where she is now and untold months of waiting for information and knowledge, not to mention developing the skill with which to use the knowledge.
Cheer up kiddo and ask for what you need. Help will be there.
