| I am new to the type III world. I used to own a 69 bus. I am looking to buy a squareback but before I do I want to have some info on this type of vw. can anyone recomend a good magazine that is out there that has type II info I picked up a hot VW but it seems to cater to bugs and busses. I will be wanting to do most of the work myself so any info you can offer would be great. |

| I think you'll get more info here on thesamba than in any magazine. also check out www.vwtype3.org |

as you'll see, there's not a lot of "catering" to the type 3 enthusiats so you'll need to hang around this forum and do your reading here.
to check into parts and availability you'll need the following
www.vwispwest.com
www.theddb.com
these are your main and 2 best resources and then there are people like me who hoard up all the parts and cars for future use or whatever. |

Type3 definatley do not get much coverage. It's a tight nit little community that you have to sort of follow. Since we don'y have many parts readily available, we sort of rely on each other to source parts.

In addition you want to keep an eye on Ebay for the Bentley and the Haynes manuals. They are imperative if you are going to do the work yourself. The Muir (How to keep my VW alive) is pretty good as well, but the Bentley is definetile the way to go, and the Haynes if youget a carbed car.
