how do you keep teh motor from spinning when trying to tighten teh gland nut on an automatic?

This is a very good question. You're "supposed" to use the VW lock plate jig, but I don't know anybody who has one. You might try your local VW dealer, but he probably doesn't have one either. What I use is a IR impact, and torque it down with it using blue or red loctite. I make sure my air compressor is fully topped off (cycled) before I start tightening it up. I also use my breaker bar with a 30mm socket to hold the other end of the crank (fan end). I know this really isn't the correct way to do this, but the Torque Meister doesn't work with out teeth for it to grab on. :roll: I hope this helps.
