Good morning all,

I just bought a 74 SB that my bank had for next to nothing. Runs good, no bad visible rust, etc. I am wanting to restore this and have no clue where to start. What is a good resource on the process of restoration? Oh, I also have two great assistants with this project (my 9 and 13 year old sons)! Should be loads of fun. :D

Thanks for your help!

Take a look at my 74 Beetle's Resto site. It's not quite stock, but gives you some ideas.

And remember to have FUN.

Glenn,

I read through your website on Tuesday or Wednesday! VERY NICE!! I showed it to my 13 year old and he said he wants our Bug to look that nice.

Thanks,
RazorBug

Get the Bently manual. Also do some internet surfing! www.superbeetlesonly.com is another good site for strut cars. 8)

quick question...what bank has a super beetle laying around? Do they repo them or what? seems a little odd/random to me

Add superbeetles.com which is different from superbeetlesonly and aircooled.com -look at the links shown at those sites

"I read through your website on Tuesday or Wednesday! VERY NICE!! I showed it to my 13 year old and he said he wants our Bug to look that nice. " As long as you don't look like the owner, you will be okay!

What you see on Glenns resto pages is what a bunch of us guys begged him to do for years after he logged a million miles on it. Actually we just bugged him to paint it and as you can see, he went a little above and beyond.

Thanks Kurt.

True... i got sick and tired of people telling me to paint it. But once i got started... it was hard to stop.

When you do your car, remember to have fun.

To All,

Thanks for all of the suggestions. This will give me loads to read before getting started.

I didn't question the bank why they had it, I just offered about half of what they wanted for it and they took it. :D

Monday morning, got to get to work.

Thanks again,
RazorBug
