hey guys, im looking for the years that the bus had the 091 trans

i did a search with a million unrelated topics, sorry if this question has been asked before, and i posted here because probably more off road guys use these(091 trans) than ppl with a bus

TIA

They are in 76 to 79 Baywindow type2s. I think Vanagon trannys are 091 but have a side shifter making it hard to adapt to a type one based vehicle without changing the intermidiate housing and nosecone.

'76 - '79 nose shift 091
'80 - '83?? Side shift 091

I am using a side shift 091 in my rail....For an offroad vehicle you want the nose shift 091.....I am having to fab a linkage for my rail....but I think the '80-up side shift 091's had a 4 spider diff which can be put in an earlier 091
