i thought i fixed this yesterday but i've found that when my bug gets hot (warms up) it keeps wanting to cut out. so far i've tried taking off the top of the carb & blowing through the pipes, & i've also tried spraying carb cleaner in the carb, & the fuel pump seems alright too. any suggestions on what to try next? please be specific & explain well because my knowledge is limited!

thanks

after using a bit more carb cleaner to clean around the inside & outside of the carb it runs now without cutting out & seems to run ok, but when pulling off it seems to have a 'dead spot' where it jolts & needs a lot more gas, my mate reckons it's not the fuel pump but that's the only thing i can think of at the moment, any suggestions? it's obviously fuel starvation that's the problem :?

Give her a tune up, Plugs, Points, Condenser, Time, valves, oil Then ajust your carb

may sound stupid, but whats the fuel filter look like?

they all pretty much look like a tiny coffee can on your fuel line. You should have one between your gas tank and the fuel pump. you can also have/put one between the pump and the carbs. something like this, usually clear though

thanks to my good mate jay i've solved the problem..

it was misfiring, cutting out & had no power at all because i didn't block one of the valves on the side of the carb when i changed the air filter. some of you will understand why it did what it did now
