I have a 83 cabby that will not run, this is the lowdown. both fuel pumps are working, I have fuel through the filter and to the control box(dont know if thats what its called but its the box that the injector lines come from.) also have fuel to the small unit mounted down on the front of the motor(dont know what that is either but it gets fuel and sends it) when I disconnect a injector line and turn the car over fuel does not squirt out of it,should it? If i squirt fuel with a bottle directly into the throttle body the car runs. so it is definetly a fuel problem. It seems to have good pressure everywhere except directly out of the box to the injectors. can anyone help?? I'm all about aircooled and totally lost with this.

Is the air flap in the airbox working? This moves the plunger in the fuel distributor causing fuel to flow to the injectors.

Buy a repair manual so you can see the way things work.

air box?? is that the unit under the hood that the injector fuel lines are coming from? if so how would i check for this? Do I need to take the three screws out of the top of the unit with the injector lines coming out of it? I am totally clueless to waterpumper fuel injected vw,s. what manual would you suggest for good details?
